Jake Mizell

3x Judge at Regionals | 3X Judge at CrossFit Games

Jake has always had a love for fitness and the spirit of competition.

He grew up playing baseball, and is an alum of Martin High School right here in Arlington. (Go Warriors!) While attending college in San Angelo, Texas, Jake found the CrossFit world. He became a member of San Angelo CrossFit and was quickly hooked. Realizing this was now what he wanted to do, he got to work improving his personal fitness and soon attended the Level 1 Seminar to become a CrossFit-Level 1 Trainer in November of 2012. Soon thereafter he widened his skill set by becoming a CrossFit Olympic Lifting Trainer, adding that to his resume. Jake was also chosen to the South Central Regional Judging panel for the 2013 Reebok CrossFit Games Regional competition that was held in San Antonio.

“Seeing these amazing athletes push themselves through grueling workouts really turned up my personal determination to push myself to the limit every day and not only make myself better, but also the community around me, that is what CrossFit is about. It is about the community, not an individual competitor.”

-Jake Mizell

After receiving the go ahead from CrossFit HQ to become an affiliate, Jake knew he wanted to take his passion for this sport back to his old stomping grounds. At over 2,000 sq ft, Rock it CrossFit is welcome to anyone who is willing to improve their own fitness. Effort is the only prerequisite, and all types of fitness levels are encouraged; From Elite athletes, to the soon to be college stars, to the person who has sat on the couch for the last 3 years, everyone is welcome. CrossFit is not only a way to improve all aspects of fitness, but also a chance to build a wonderful community around the box and enjoy the time spent with the person next to you.
